Roy T. Edgmon, 102 of Lowell, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at his home surrounded by family.
Mr. Edgmon was born Nov. 27, 1913 in Newton County, Arkansas to Phil and Pennie Edgmon. He married Vola Watson May 28, 1933.

They moved to NW Arkansas in the fall of 1945 where he farmed and worked over 30 years at Farmers Coop. He was a long time member and deacon of Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church of Springdale. In 2012 Mr. and Mrs. Edgmon were the Arkansas recipients of the Worldwide Marriage Encounter's award for the Arkansas couple with the longest marriage.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and three brothers, Dewey, Arnold and Bob Edgmon.

He is survived by his wife, Vola of the home, two sons, J. D. of Bentley, Kansas, Don of Lake Fork, Texas and one daughter, Frankie Scott of Springdale. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, and numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will begin at 2:00pm Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale with Dr. Randy Carroll officiating the service. Committal service to follow at the Friendship Cemetery.
