The Rev. William "Ross" Davis Sr. (age 106) entered into eternal life with our Lord and Savior, Monday April 13, 2009 at the Texoma Medical Center Hospital at Denison, Texas surrounded by his loving family.

Rev. Davis was born august 9, 1902 in Indian Territory in Oklahoma before Oklahoma was a state.

He was the son of Charlie and Edna (Perry) Davis.

"Ross" loved the Lord and was his faithful servant. He was ordained as a minister for the Assembly of God in 1934. He served in Yamaby, Antlers, Oklahoma City, Hugo, Durant, all in Oklahoma and also in Childress, Tx.

He was the oldest ordained minister in Oklahoma where he served as District Presbyter of the Oklahoma District Assembly of God. Later he served as associate pastor for First Assembly of God in Denison, Texas for 20 years. In his latter life, he was a member of trinity Lighthouse Church in Denison, Tx.

Rev. Davis loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. When his wife Gertrude Anderson Davis passed away, he later married longtime and dear family friend Lois Buchanan on March 17, 1973 in Denison, Tx. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Troy Davis and wife Sally of Denison, Tx.
Clint Davis and wife Dee of Red Oak, Tx.

Daughters:
Lois Bell of Cartwright, OK.
Quannah Reed and husband Carl of Lubbock, Tx.
Shirley Grantham and husband Buddy of Lubbock
Pat Hogan of Lubbock, Tx

43 great-grandchildren
18 great-great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents
wife Gertrude

and William "Bill" Davis Jr.

and a grandson Greg Grantham

Funeral services will be held April 15, 2009 at 10:00am at Trinity Lighthouse Church with Reverands Raymond England and H.H. Davis officiating.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery at Denison, Tx.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers
