The daughter of Benjamin Eugene and Sarah Belle (Harp) McFerrin.

A longtime resident of Boxley since 1909, she served as the postmaster there for 45 of her 103 years. She was also a member of the Boxley Baptist Church, where she had been a member since 1914.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, 29 May, at 2:00 p.m., at the Boxley Baptist Church, Rev. Claud Williams officiating. Burial followed at the Walnut Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
