♥ ♥ ~ My Grand Uncle Mike ~ ♥ ♥

Mike was the son of Nastaria and Nicolaus Kossitch. He married Pearl Pauline Oakes on January 28, 1917, and they had seven children: Frank, Helen, Mary, Margaret, John Joseph, Stanley, and Mildred.

Mike worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad. Early one morning he was called to repair a track signal. He went down the rails by handcar and fixed the signal. Nobody had alerted the engineer of the next train that work was being done on the track, so as Mike was returning home on the handcar he was struck by a freight train.
