Actress. She was an American stage and screen actress. After graduating from high school, she attended Clark's Los Angeles Dramatic School with aspirations to become a stage actress. After starring on stage in Los Angeles, in a play titled "The Seventh Year," she was approached by Paramount Studios. She was discovered by film director and producer, Cecil B. DeMille, and made her screen debut as Buffalo Bill Cody's wife in "The Plainsman" in 1936. During her short Hollywood career, she appeared in four films. She married Herbert Rutherford, a piano instructor, on January 27, 1937 but the marriage was annulled within three months. While filming "Night of Mystery" in 1937, she had a "simple cold," which developed in lobal pneumonia. With no antibiotics in this era, she died at age 20. The movie was finished without her remaining scenes.
