Shirley was the daughter of William Fletcher Rosborough and Mary Peyton Randolph. She married John Frederick Blatt.

"MRS. BLATT, 806 Carol Court, Tavares, died Tuesday, May 22. She was a homemaker. Born in Augusta, Ga., she moved to Central Florida in 1962. She was a member of the Unitarian Church. She was a past president of the Tavares Women's Club and Tavares Garden Club and a member of the [Ocklawaha Chapter] Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Confederacy and the Colonial Dames. Survivors: son, John "Jack" Blatt, Tavares; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren, Mount Dora. Central Florida Cremation, Tavares."

Born in Augusta, GA in 1905, she moved to Windsor, FL in 1910 and lived with her paternal grandfather John A. Rosborough, retired Florida State Legislator. Then moving to Micanopy, FL where her father, Dr. John Fletcher Rosborough was a practicing physician, she met her husband of 63 years, the late John F. Blatt. After a 40 year residency in Oklahoma City, OK, where her husband was employed, she and her husband retired to Tavares, FL in 1962. She was a past President of the Tavares Women's Club and the Tavares Azalea Garden Club and was also an active member of Ocklawaha Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy and The National Society Colonial Dames. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth Anne Madsen. Mrs. Blatt is survived by her son, Jack Blatt, Tavares, FL, her son-in-law, Charles G. Madsen, Mt. Dora, FL; Grandchildren: Dr. and Mrs. Erik R. Madsen, Winter Garden, FL, Mr. and Mrs. C. Christian Madsen, Ocoee, FL, and Mark A. Madsen, Mt. Dora, FL, and great, grandchildren: Jacob Madsen, Ocoee, FL, May Beth and Savannah Madsen, Maxwell AFB, AL. Formal Services will not be held, and if desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lake and Sumter, Inc.
