Nancy Lee (Owens) Bailey passed away at her home in San Antonio, Texas on August 24, 2012. She was born on February 20, 1935 in Deland, Florida, the daughter of Fred and Adelia Owens.
Beloved wife of 55 years to Col. Jerry T. Bailey, USAF Ret. She is survived by her children, Steve Bailey of New Orleans, Juli Pendergrass of Houston and Amy Bailey of San Antonio; her sons-in-law, Mark Blakeney and Keith Pendergrass; her grandchildren, Anna and Sarah Pendergrass; her brother, Philip Owens and her nephew, Jack Owens.
Nancy graduated from Umatilla High School and received a B.A. degree from Stetson University in Florida. She lived in many states and abroad as a military wife and fortunately loved to travel. She was also a teacher and community volunteer. She was a member of the Ocklawaha Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her abounding love and generosity will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life.
A reception at the church will follow.
She will be buried in Florida alongside her parents.
