Carlotta Jane Strickland Langston, known as Lotty to family and friends, was my Grandmother. She was a very special person and is greatly missed by all. She was a member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She was also active with the Meals-on-Wheels program. With all that being said, it doesn't tell you how truely great she was.
Every weekend my parents would send me and my brothers off to her apartment to spend with her. She would let us watch T.V., and when we got to rowdy, she would kick us out to raise havco on her apartment complex. When my parents would go to get us, she would make her famous buttermilk biscuits. Everyone loved Grandmas biscuits, and to this day no one can do them justice quite like her. At least once a month my Uncle, Aunts, and cousins would come down and we would all get together and bar-b-que, or just plain have fun.
My Grandma died on March 8th 1995. Our family hasn't been the same since. She was buried at Spring Hill United Methodist Church cemetery in Harnett County. The church is in front of a pond that she would take us kids fishing in. Her life was so full, that I can't put down in words what she meant to us. Even though she is gone, we still live by her words of wisdom. She left us much to soon.
We love you, Grandma, and miss you something awful.
