Adolph C. Cawi, 71, of 1025 21st the St., Rock Island, died Sunday afternoon in the Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley where he had been we a resident for six months. Mr. Cawi was a former Rock Island alderman and a city fireman for 11 years.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 in the Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. The Rosary will he recited at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home where friends may call.

Mr. Cawi was born April 6, 1887 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of Anton and Minnie Cawi. He resided in Rock Island most of his life.

He married Anna M. Craft on Dec. 24, 1932. Mr. Cawi was of Catholic faith.

He was a member of the Rock Island Fire Department from 1 Jun 1909 - 22 Jun 1935. He was employed for many years as a guard at the Farmall Works of the International Harvester Co.

Surviving are the widow; one son, John. San Bernardino, Calif.; a stepson, Percy Craft, Onamia, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Young, San Bernardino. and Mrs. Alvina Pol1ey, Rock Island; a grandson and a niece, Mrs. Virginia Palmer, Rock Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
