Lynda Lou Hope Carpenter, 67, of Niota, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at her residence.
A native of Sweetwater, and a longtime resident of Niota, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Beulah Miller Hope, and was preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. and David Hope. She was a former employee of NHC Health Care of Athens.
Survivors include her husband, William H. Carpenter of Niota; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly Carmel and Junior Vaughn of Niota, and Khristie Michelle and Kenny Morgan of Athens; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tony Lee and Sharon Dorsey, William H. "BoBo" and Tammy Carpenter and Michael Shawn and Samantha Carpenter, all of Niota; five grandchildren, T.J. Dorsey, Amanda Long, Casey Fields, Quinton Fields and Jessica Martin; nine great-grandchildren, Chase Morgan, Chandler Morgan, Ashlee Carpenter, Hayden Martin, Braxton Martin, Kayleigh, Destin and Billy Joe Long and Steven Dorsey; a special nephew, Rickey Hope and his wife, Debbie, of Athens; a special friend, Louise Benson of Riceville; one sister-in-law, Samme Templin and her husband, Marvin; and one cousin, Robert Miller and his wife, Mary.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
