Bob was a 1950 graduate of Warren High School. For four years, he attended Tool and Die School with General Electric, until being drafted in the US Army, where he was stationed in Germany for 18 months. Upon his return, he worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Warren Components, and then worked at GTE Sylvania for 29 years, from which he retired.
Bob was an active member of the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department for 59 years where he held 1st assistant chief for 25 years and chief for 20 years. He was also the Forest Fire Warden of Clarendon Borough and Mead Township. Bob also was a member of the Clarendon Trinity United Methodist Church, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the United Commercial Travelers, and was active at the Warren YMCA.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn K. (Miller) Jones, whom he married August 17, 1954, in Jamestown, NY; one daughter, Catherine A. Peterson, and husband, Jon, of Clarendon; two sons, Thomas E. Jones, and wife, Malinda, of Stoneham, and Andrew G. Jones, and girlfriend, Darlynda, of Clarendon; 8 grandchildren; and 5 greatgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Jones.
Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Friday, May 20 from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the Clarendon Fire Hall, 17 N. Main Street, Clarendon, on Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at which time, a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Martin Reynolds, pastor, and Rev. Stacy Schaffer, chaplain, Warren County Jail, co-officiating.
Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
