Paul Clifford Libengood, 89, of Blairsville, Indiana County, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at the home of his son, Paul "Bud" Libengood, Greensburg. The son of Robert O. and Julia (Barclay) Libengood, he was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Blairsville. Mr. Libengood was a member of Black Lick United Methodist Church and the Mountain View Squares. He was an avid golfer. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Navy. He worked for FMC, Homer City for 33 years, retiring in 1984. Surviving are two sons, Paul L. "Bud" and wife Sandra, Greensburg, and Ronald S. and wife Sandra, Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, E. Marie (Bennett) Libengood, May 6, 2006; three brothers, Blaine, Robert and Pete; and eight sisters, Florence Dodson, Elva McBurney, Ethel Libengood, Ora Mae Blystone, Nancy Sloan, Clara Jean Cornell, Helen Mankamer and Alice Ray. Friends were received at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, where funeral services were held Monday with the Rev. Brett Dinger officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
