Ralph G. Mealy Jr., 75, of Foulkrod Street, Sheffield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the Warren General Hospital after being stricken at home.
Mr. Mealy was born January 20, 1936, in Bradford, PA., the son of the late Ralph and Katherine Crawford Mealy Sr. He was a graduate of Warren High School and had served in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed as a welder at Dorcon and Warren Steel from which he retired. After retirement he was a cook at the Mineral Well Restaurant for a few years. He and his wife attended the Sheffield United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Lakewood V.F.W. Ralph enjoyed his family, hunting, winemaking, gardening and cooking.
He is survived by a son, Brian Mealy and his wife Cindy, Clarendon, two daughters, Tina West and her companion Alan Chapel, Sheffield, and Jennie Anderson, Warren; a sister Connie Johnson, Ludlow; a brother, Kurt Mealy, TX; five stepchildren, Frank Zingone and his wife Domenica, Grove City, PA., Mark Zingone, Youngsville, Carolyn McBride and her husband James, Scandia, Edward Shall, Sheffield, Cathy Schreckengost and her husband Joe, Mt. Jewett PA.; six grandchildren, Amanda West, Pittsburgh, Brittany West, Sheffield, Jessica Mealy, Pittsburgh, Tyler Mealy, Clarendon, Carl Anderson, Warren, Samantha Anderson, Brocton, N.Y., and Adrianna Mealy, Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Marlene Castagnino Mealy; his second wife, Mary Shall Mealy; a son, Ralph G. Mealy, III in 1989, a sister Shirley Cunningham, three stepsons, Tim Shall, Kenny Shall, and Joe Shall, and his canine companion, "Sassy".
