He was assigned to military intelligence and was discharged with the rank of lieutenant. He married Myrtle Fuller in 1919 in Berkeley, California. After a year as an advertising copy writer, he joined an investment banking firm. He continued with this firm for forty years until his retirement in 1960. He and Myrtle were the parents of three children. He passed away at the age of 73.
