Mildred A. Darling, 81, of Route 90, Cortland, N.Y., RD 4, died Jan. 19, 1994, at Cortland Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 9, 1912, in Cortland, the daughter of Aaron and Esther Gillette Breeds.
Mrs. Darling was a graduate of Homer Academy.
In May 1940, she married Frederick Darling and lived in Russell before moving back to Cortland in the late 1940s.
Mrs. Darling worked for Wilson Sporting Goods before retiring from Smith Corona.
She was a member of the West Homer Improvement Club, East Summer Hill Baptist Church, Cortlandville Grange and the Homer and Lake Como Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two sons, James of Liverpool and Lynn of Cortland; three daughters, Constance Oaks of Phillipsburg, N.J., Sylvia Russell and Susan Withers, both of Cortland; one sister, Lillian Vossler of Preble; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick, in 1975 and a daughter, Diana Boyden, in 1991.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Briggs-Hall Memorial Home, 11 N. Main St., Homer. Spring interment will be in West Homer Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the East Summer Hill Baptist Church.
