SCOTT – Herman L. Thornton, 81, of 6523 Route 41 died Monday at Cortland Memorial Hospital.
A native of Lisle, Mr. Thornton lived in Scott for more than 50 years. He retired as a self-employed dairy farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Alice M.; three daughters, Shirley Thornton of Syracuse, Virginia Tully of Penn Yan and Judith Loveatz of Knoxville, Ky.; a brother, Glenn of Cincinnatus; a sister, Lora Lansdowne of Sempronius; six grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Donald L. Barber Funeral Home.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Homer Fire Department Rescue Squad.
