Homer lived his life very quietly in the small hamlet of Bolivar. He had a small two room house and he loved to have company. He used to mow his lawn with a motorless mower and he kept a garden. Although he had no family of his own he loved children and used to make all the kids in town caramel apples at Halloween and he got such joy when we would come by. He was always worried he would forget someone and not have enough. He had many good friends that lived all around him that helped look out for him. I sometimes think if we could all live life as simply as Homer did it would be a better world.
Homer Rollins, brother of Mrs. W.E.(Edith) Collier, Sr. . of Idabel, Oklahoma, died Thursday in the Olney, Tx. nursing home at the age of 79.
Mr. Rollins, who was a retired military man and ranch employee, is survived by his sister, Mrs. Collier; a brother, Delmar D Rollins of Olney; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Bill Collier of Houston, Tx. and W.E. Collier, Jr. of Idabel.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Coker Funeral Home in Sanger, Tx. with interment in the Bolivar, Tx. cemetery.
