Pvt Ecker, 18, was killed in action in Germany, February 22nd. he graduated High School in June of 1944 in Pittsburgh PA and enlisted in August of 1944.He had served overseas since January 1945.

He was the only son of Mrs. A. Ecker and the late William C, Ecker, His Purple Heart was awarded to his mother. He was survived by a sister, Isabel, who lived in Arlington VA.
