PVT. LEROY BEST, JR.
The body of Pvt. Leroy Best, Jr., 20, who was killed April 8, 1945, in Germany, will arrive Monday afternoon for funeral services and reburial under direction of Herman Lohmeyer. Private Best was born here, was graduated from Senior High school in 1943. his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Best, Sr., of route 5, are caretakers at Doling park, and Private Best became one of the nation's best roller skaters through long hours of practice on the Doling rink. Other survivors include two brothers, Bobby Joe and Paul Kenneth of the home, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Best of Springfield.
