Loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend of many died on November 18, 2005, after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. Born on March 11, 1930, to Merrill W. Heft and Mary E. Stoyle in Lancaster, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and twin brother Don Heft. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jessica; daughter Ann Dean (Ken) of Richardson; son Scott (Virginija) of Vilnius, Lithuania; and grandchildren Melissa and Adam Dean and Aaron John and Mykolas Henry Heft. Also by sister-in-law Joan Heft and brothers-in-law John and Bill Waggoner and their families. John was a member of the Waterview Church of Christ, serving as an elder for 18 years. He was a 1953 graduate (in math) of Texas A&M and a veteran. He enjoyed playing and coaching baseball and basketball and was a lifetime Chicago Cubs fan. He worked at Texas Instruments for 33 years in Richardson and Attleboro, MA. After retiring, he enjoyed tutoring children; ESL studies with Chinese; a job support ministry; sporting events, and travel (especially to Lithuania!). He was an encourager and mentor--a man of integrity, loyal, and committed. His family and friends love him dearly and miss him deeply. Graveside services at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at Restland Memorial Park with a memorial service at 2:30 PM on Tuesday at Waterview Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to the Oglesby Foundation, 1409 N. Waterview, Richardson, TX 75080, and the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association, P. O. Drawer C-10, College Station, TX 77844-9030.
