Annie Allen
Funeral services for Annie Allen will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Dolan Ivey officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Mrs. Allen, longtime Hammon resident, died today(sic) at the age of 96. Funeral Services for Annie Belle Allen will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Martin Funeral Chapel of Elk City with Dolan Ivey and Billy Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.
Annie Belle (Lackey) Allen was born February 16, 1905 at Corsicana, Texas to L.A. and Wash Stella (Jones) Lackey and died Wednesday at the age of 96.
Annie attended school at Red Rock and Herring. She was baptized(sic) in the Washita River near Herring when she was in her 20's. Annie was married to John B. Allen February 11, 1923 at Herring. Annie worked side by side with John milking cows and raising wheat on their family farm southwest of Hammon. they also went on harvest together for over 45 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son-in-law, Fred Walker; one great grandson; three sisters; and five brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Imagene Walker of Hammon; two grandsons; one sister, Dorothy Griffin of Midwest City; one brother, Paul Lackey of Hammon; seven great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
