She met her second husband, Oscar Larson, while she was working as a Fred Harvey girl in the railroad station in Ft. Scott. She was a single mother, supporting her daughter, Dorothy. Oscar was an Engineer with the St. Louis and San Francisco (Frisco) railroad. He had two sons, Clay and Francis, from a previous marriage. Edith and Oscar were married on February 8, 1921, in the courthouse in Ft. Scott, with Judge Crider presiding. The next day, Oscar legally adopted Dorothy, giving her the Larson name. Edith and Oscar together had another daughter, Beverly, in 1925.
Edith passed away from a heart attack at the home of Beverly, and her husband Aksel, at 8819 Craig St., Overland Park, Kansas.
