Upon returning from service, John married Marlene Corbin. He attended Fresno City College and Fresno State where he earned a Masters Degree in Social Work. He was a Social Worker for Fresno County for over ten years. Until the time of his death, John was a school counselor for the Coalinga-Huron Unified School District. He created and coached sports teams, sponsored student council and loved playing Santa.
John and Marlene were married for over 33 years and had five children. He was predeceased by his father Richard; and his sister, Mary Ramirez. He is survived by Marlene, his beloved wife; his daughters, Jennifer Turner and her husband Jeff of Dallas, and Elaina Langston and her husband Tim of Dallas; his sons, Danny Borquez, David Borquez and Nicholas Borquez, all of Fresno; his grandchildren, Natalie, Emma and Michael Turner, and Ava Langston; his mother, Amelia Roldan of Kerman; his sisters, Martha Provencio of Mendota, Delores Galindo of Imperial, his twin, Julia Hernandez of Stockton and Ruth Palma, Minnie Hernandez and Esther Borquez, all of Fresno; his brothers, Cruz Mendoza of Stockton, and Henry Borquez of Fresno.
John passed away at the age of 59. He will be loved and dearly missed by his family and friends.
A Funeral Service was held at the Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 2, 2005.
