Maude Cogburn passed away at the age of 103. Maude was born in Plato Missouri where she grew up and received her education and training as an Elementary School Teacher. She taught several years before her marriage to the late Ruben Cogburn. They eventually moved to California and lived in Fresno. Maude was employed by Gottschalks at their Fulton Mall Store and for a time in earlier years at The J.C. Penny Store in Madera. Maude has made her home in Madera for the last 8 years residing the last 7 of those years at The Madera Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. The family expresses their deepest gratitude for the loving care and attention given to Maude by the staff while she was in their care.
Maude was preceded in death by her husband Ruben Cogburn, by her 2 sons Eugene Cogburn and Lawrence Cogburn, and by her grandson Cy Cogburn.
She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Eileen Cogburn of Madera, and Mafalda Cogburn of Springfield, OR. She is the beloved grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 21.
A Memorial Service for Maude was held February 13, 2006 Private interment will be in Arbor Vitae Cemetery.
