Wanda B. Barter, 86, of New Haven, who taught home economics and physical education at New Haven High School for more than 30 years, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. The Paulding County, Ohio, native belonged to New Haven United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Surviving are her husband, William; a son, Dennis Nowels of Boise, Idaho; and a sister, Mary Bauer of Marion, Ohio. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Highway East, New Haven, where calling begins at noon Friday. Calling is also from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana 930 East, New Haven. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Memorials are to Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana.
Wanda also leaves behind three grandchildren, Jean A. (Nowels) Murphy, Mark D. Nowels and Michael N. Nowels.
