Francis "Frank" Veale (aka Vail) was born in Ballinaharda, Old Parish, Dungarvan, County Waterford, Ireland. He was the son of Francis Veale and Mary Driscol. Francis immigrated to the United States in the early 1880s. He married Mary Kennedy at St. Cecilia's Church in New York City. Their children included: Edward, Michael, Frank, Margaret, Nora and Josie. They also had several children who died in infancy including Nicholas, Joseph and Alice. He is buried with his son, Michael Vail. Also buried in the plot, but not mentioned on the stone, is his grand daughter, Margaret Catherine Beyer.
