Annie Irene "Lady" Rippey, was born April 5, 1903 to Eva Francis (Hardwick) Johnson and Joseph Alonzo Johnson. On October 5, 1920 she married William Bishop Rippey . Born to this union were three daughters; Betty Dean Rippey Quisenberry (husband Lyndell), Idelia Joy Rippey Harris Roberson (husband Sam), Rheba Willene Rippey Marshall (husband Lester). She passed from this life in the early morning hours of January 23, 1994 in Denton Texas with her family surrounding her.
She also was survived by grandchildren; Sheron Lynn (Quisenberry) Cox, Deon Truitt Quisenberry, Joe Burton Harris , Danny Lewis Harris, Jimmy Neal Harris, Tod Kelly Harris, Christine Lynn Marshall Waggoner and Trisha Roberson Bolz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one grandchild Leslie Kay Marshall .
She was the true example of a Christian woman. Her home was always open to anyone in need. She could cook up a meal on a moment's notice and was offended if you did not get at least one of her homemade sugar cookies before you left. Her baked macaroni and cheese was the absolute best and family dinners were not complete until it arrived. Her greatest joy was her family and she showered them with an untold number of homemade gifts which are our treasures.
Her siblings were: Katie Johnson Mayes, Lelia Johnson Lewis, Eula Mae Johnson Lewis, Darrell Johnson, Robert Lee Johnson, Marshall Johnson, and Edna Johnson Ramsey.
