Theodore E. "Ted" Loose, 79, 309 Shippen St., Tyrone, died Saturday at his residence.

He was born the son of Harry H. and Susan Mildred (Quarry) Loose.

He was formerly married to Sherry (McClellan) Nichols.

Surviving are three daughters: Kim Hunter (Charles) of Tyrone, Judith Woodcock (Curtis) of Tyrone and Traci Black (John) of Sinking Valley; and a son, Theodore E. Loose II, of Tyrone; eight grandchildren: Jill and MaryElyn Hunter, Curtis and Amelia Woodcock, Paige, Ross, Libby and Abraham Black; two sisters: Janet Reasy (Joe) and Gladys Clapper (Paul), all of Hollidaysburg; and two brothers: Donald W. Loose of Martinsburg and Ray H. Loose (Lee) of Tyrone.

He was a 1949 graduate of Tyrone High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

He coached Tyrone Little League baseball for 20 years and coached the league's first girl.

He was an avid Tyrone sports fan and enjoyed time with his family and grandchildren, especially at picnics and holidays.

After retiring from Conrail in 1994, he spent a lot of time working and hunting on his son-in-law's farm in Sinking Valley.

Private funeral services were held at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone.

Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery.
