Major League Baseball Player. He was a center fielder for five teams in eight years in the major leagues. He broke in with the Richmond Virginias in 1884. He spent the next five years (and bulk of his career) with the Boston Beaneaters (1885 to 1889). In 1890 he played with the Boston Red Stockings and New York Giants and finished up in 1891 with the Cincinnati Porkers. In 2,992 plate appearances he batted a modest .251 with 386 runs batted in and 33 home runs. He led the National League in triples in 1888 with 18.
