Born in Pottsville, PA, Rev. James R. Fogarty was the great grandson of Robert Wall and Jane Dormer; the grandson of James Fogarty and Bridget Wall; and the son of Robert J. Fogarty and Mary McCormick. He was a grand nephew to Rev. Lawrence J. Wall
and the nephew of Rev. Patrick F. Fogarty. So it may have been a natural inclination for him to consider the priesthood. He died while he was at St. Anne's parish in Phoenixville. During his priesthood he performed marriages for several of his cousins including the marriage of his cousin EILEEN HINES to JOSEPH CARPENTER in 1937 and the marriage of NANCY MAHONEY to CHARLIE O'CONNER in 1952.--also James P Hines(son of Vincent and Agnes Mahoney Hines) to Marie Cascio on Jan.10,1953 to name a few.
