Margaret Mulvey Kilduff was the mother of Mary Theresa Kilduff, who married George Banahan in County Roscommon, Ireland prior to 1846, and later, Mike Mellyn, prior to 1864.  She was also the mother of John Duffey, who changed his name from Kilduff to Duffey when he came to America. He lived in Santa Cruz County, dying near the village of Soquel. Margaret Mulvey Kilduff's headstone shows that it was erected by "P.Burk". This is Patrick Burke, the husband of Margaret's granddaughter (and Mary Theresa's daughter), Katherine Banahan.  Patrick Burke came to Sonora about 1863, and owned and operated a blacksmith and wagon making shop for nearly fifty years on Washington Street. It is presumed that Margaret Mulvey Kilduff immigrated with her family to the Boston area about 1853, finally settling in the community of Sawmill Flat near Sonora by 1865.  Margaret Agnes Banahan Brady, the wife of Matthew Brady, a prominent businessman in Columbia (owner of the Brady Building) was Margaret Kilduff's granddaughter.
