Kenneth was a warm, sweet-natured popular student with a wonderful, warm personality and a great smile. He was also truly gifted and able to communicate with adults. He had great respect for his elders and was very appreciative of anything the school could do to help him.

At the time of his death, Kenneth was 11 years old and looking forward to the 5th-grade at Garysburg Elementary the following fall. His favorite subject was math, because it was his strongest area. At the end of the 2005-2006 school year, Kenneth received the "Most Improved Student" award from the Northampton County Ministerial Association. During that same year, during Black History Month, students were supposed to dress as a famous person. Kenneth came in as a comic, Bernie Mac. He told jokes and really had a good time with it. Kenneth always had a story to tell.

Kenneth was shot trying to pull his mother away from a gunman who confronted the family in a road-rage argument.
