Donald "Don" Schultz, age 74 of Neodesha, died Thursday evening, August 22, 2002 at the Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas.

Don was born April 13, 1928 in Cimarron, Kansas to Peter and Lena (Nightengale) Schultz. Don grew up in Fredonia, Kansas attended rural school in Fredonia, Kansas.

On March 1, 1952 Don married Pauline Johnson and they made their home in Neodesha, Kansas. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March, 1st 2002. Don worked for and retired from the City of Neodesha. He was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons Larry and wife Cindy Schultz of Elk Point, South Dakota, Gary and wife Karolyn Schultz of Neodesha, Kansas one daughter Donna (Scott) Schultz of Rossvile, Kansas; three brothers Cornelius Schultz of Lafontaine, Kansas, Reuben Schultz of Fredonia, Kansas and Tobie Schultz of Montezuma, Kansas; three sisters Eva Schultz of Fredonia, Kansas, Martha Nichols of Okolona, Mississippi and Delores Jantz of Elcampo, Texas; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents one brother, and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2002 at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Harry Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.

Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.

The family has suggested memorials to the Neodesha First Christian Church and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
