Sergeant First Class Aucoin was a member of Battery C, 674th Airborne Field Artillery Battalion, 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on October 22, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. Sergeant First Class Aucoin was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
