PFC Chase was a member of Company G, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in Korea on July 25, 1953. Private First Class Chase was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Boulder City was the last ground action by the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War. PFC Robinson Chase almost came home.

Robinson Chase enlisted in the Marines 21 May 1952. He had an uncle named Robert A. Chase, residing in San Francisco.
