Daughter of John and Mary Opal Merryman Cole. Wife of Isaac Milton Chandler.

Lizzie Adeline(Cole) Chandler, daughter of John and Mary (Merryman)Cole, was born July 7th 1851 and departed this life Jan. 13, 1924, aged 72 years, 6 months and 6 days. She was the last of a family of six children.

At the age of eleven years she gave herself unto the Lord and united with the Mt. Moriah Baptist church of which she remained a member until God called her to be with him.

On December 17, 1877, she was united in marriage with Isacc Milton Chandler at Piedmont, O., who preceded her to the Great Beyond on March 8th, 1917.This union was blessed with four children. Edward, Rhoda and Dale(deceased) and Leota Roghelia at home.

Mrs. Chandler was resident of the same community in Jefferson County, near Smithfield, her entire life except 12 years spent in Piedmont. She was quiet and unassuming in her manner and very devoted to her home and children. Although she was not able to mingle in public life, she was always pleased to entertain in her home and many pleasant hours were spent with her. We shall always remember her smile and wave of goodbye from the door, as long as anyone was in site of her house.

She leaves a daughter Leota; son-in-law, Joe Roghelia; seven grandchildren; one great grand-child; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Katherine Cole, and nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends and neighbors. She was laid to rest with the beautiful sun shining on a blanket of snow by six of her nephews , Oscar Cole, William I. Cole, Sam Vale, I.G. Henderson and Everett Cole.

The family wishes to express their appreciation of the beautiful flowers and many acts of kindness extended to them in this time of their bereavement.
