He died in 1926 of face and neck cancer that he suffered from for two years before succumbing to it. My grandfather used to tell me stories about him and repeat stories that John Quincy had told my grandfather. He was my grandfather's grandfather on his mother's side.
His parents were John Couch, Jr. and Sarah Ann Watson.
