Architect and city council. He designed the New City Hall (with 600 rooms) and the Old Grassi museum (now City Library) in Leipzig. He worked for 8 years in Berlin. The Trauerhalle on the Jewish Cemetery Weissensee is one of the few buildings he designed in Berlin that survived the World War. In 1879 he came to Leipzig where he became the Stadtbaurat (City construction Council).
