She was born in Illinois the daughter of Charles Fredric Jay and Sarah Bryan Jay. She married 3 times; first to George W. Delaney on 9th of Jan. 1862 when she was just 16 years old. They had Nelson Lewis Delaney (1862-1897), Milo Jay Delaney (1867-1932), and Mary Elizabeth Delaney (1870-1893). Second she married Phillip Harmon on 15 Oct. 1873. They had Sarah Marcella Harmon in 1875. Third marriage was to John W. Allen, Sr. in 1884. They had 3 children; Myrtle Allen, Alice Allen, stepdaughter born in 1875, and John W. Allen, Jr. (1887-1944). The 1930 Census for her area was taken on 7 Apr. 1930. She died 7 days later at age 85. She is my 2nd Great Grandmother.
