Augustin Delaney married first, about 1822, Mary James, daughter of Cumberland James. Mary was born 12 May 1808 near St Louis, MO and died 7 Mar 1834, in St. Ferdinand Parish, St Louis County. She is buried at Cold Water Cemetery on Old Halls Ferry Road in Florissant, MO. They had five children: Rhoda (md. William Blackburn), Francis, James, John and Gilbert.

After Mary's death, Augustin purchased 40 acres in S7 T13S R1W in Calhoun County, Illinois in October of 1834. His brothers Larkin and Dearborn Delaney lived in Calhoun County, but there is no conclusive evidence that Augustin lived there.

Augustin married 2nd, 8 Oct 1837 in St Louis, Angeline Ray. Angeline was born in Ireland about 1805 and died between 1865 & 1870 in Randolph County, IL. She is buried at Hartley Cemetery with her husband. They had three children: George, Miriam (md. John Malone), and Lewis.

In July, 1841, Augustin Delaney purchased 120 acres in S23 T6S R6W - north of Bremen and west of Steeleville, in Randolph County, Illinois - where he lived his remaining days. He also owned 40 acres in S31 T6S R6W which he purchased in 1850.

Hartley Cemetery lies approximately 1 mile east and 1 mile south of his farm.
