MONROE - Lloyd David Gregory , Jr., LD, 68, of Monroe, died Saturday, September 11, 1999 at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe. Born October 23, 1930, in Roanoke, Virginia, to the late Lloyd David and Anne Gregory . Mr. Gregory served in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict and later attended Appalachian State University. Mr. Gregory made a career in sales, and was retired recently after 15 years as manufacturer's representative with the J.R. Robinson Company. LD was known for his love of family, books, ideas and open spaces. But it is for his undying devotion to Sara Ann, his wife of 45 years and inspiration and many happy memories. A son, John Mark Gregory preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Ann Gregory ; his son, Lloyd Tripp Gregory , III, and wife, Nancy of Plano, TX; two daughters, Valerie Ehret and husband, Grant of Charlotte and Rebecca G. Robinson of Little River, SC; brother, J. Patrick Gregory and wife Lynn of Denver, CO; and seven grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Monroe, where he was a member. Following the service the family will receive friends at the Gregory home. Memorials may be sent to the Adams Memorial Fund of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 116 S. Church St., Monroe, NC 28112.
