Fred Mitchell Haga Jr. CONCORD - Fred Mitchell Haga Jr., 89, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016, at the Tucker Hospice House. Born in Brownsville, Texas on March 29, 1926, he was a son of the late Fred M. Haga Sr. and Viola Beatrice Hunt Haga. A devout Christian who loved to worship, pray and listen to endless hours of sermons, Mr. Haga was a former member of Midwood Baptist Church. He retired from the Sears and Roebuck Co. in 1989 where he had been employed as a receiving stock clerk. His wife, Lucille Dean Haga preceded him death on December 14, 2001. Survivors include his four children, Patricia Haga of Concord, NC, Sandra Sims and her husband, Eric of Okatie, SC, Kenneth Haga and his wife, Deborah of Charlotte, NC and David Haga of Concord, NC; two siblings, Virginia Singletary of Charlotte, NC and Dan Haga and his wife, Wanda of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Joseph Whiteaker, Roddey Sims, Adam Bergman, Dylan Haga, Brooke Haga and Autumn Haga; and his special prayer partner and niece, Peggy Hinson of Fayetteville, NC. Funeral services are planned for 11 am Wednesday, January 13, 2015 at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte. Friends may visit one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sharon memorial Park. Contributions in memory of Fred M. Haga Jr. should be made to "Samaritans Purse".
