Survivors include her daughters, Anita H. McLeod and her husband, D. Max McLeod of Matthews and Gayle H. Ford and her husband, Ray Ford of West Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Will McLeod, Ryan and David Ford; sisters, Betty Hooks Karnes of LaGrange, Illinois and Patsy Hooks Lemmond of Matthews; brothers, Edwin and Paul Hooks.
Sadie 's retirement from Barclays American allowed her even more time with her family and her flowers and garden. She nurtured both people and plants, delighting in their growth.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18th, 2000 at 10:30 AM at Matthews United Methodist Church where Sadie was a lifelong member, with Dr. Ken Lyon, officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive guests at the church the hour preceding the funeral service.
The family extends grateful acknowledgment and appreciation to Dr. James Pugh and Dr. John Lacoutoure as well as to the nurses and caregivers at Asbury Care Center at Aldersgate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Matthews United Methodist Church or Asbury Care Center.
