GALVESTON - Kenneth Earl "Kenny" Gilliam, 53, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2000, in the memorial room of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston with the Rev. Bobby Smith, chaplain at the University of Texas Medical Branch, officiating. Mr. Gilliam's family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. Honoring

Kenny's wish to be cremated and following services Thursday, his burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

Kenny was born on Galveston Island, May 8,1947. For at least 15 years, he was a merchant marine whose job brought him through many different countries, including carrying supplies during the Persian Gulf War.

Preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Teresa Gilliam; and his brother, Arthur Dallas, Kenny leaves behind his brother, Joe Dallas of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Dallas of Galveston and Sybil Dallas of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also saddened by this loss is Kenny's loving companion, Debbie Bacon-Green and her daughter, Kelli.

Kenny was known for his compassion and concern that he
held for his friends and loved ones. He will be sadly missed.
