Mr. Russell, 52, of Charlotte, died October 4, 2010 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House.

He was born July 6, 1958 in Charlotte, N.C., son of Herbert Daniel Russell, of Monroe, N.C. and the late Marcene Mangum Russell. He was a graduate of Garinger High School and worked in the printing business for over 30 years. Danny was an avid golfer and followed all sports.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 7, 2010 in the Chapel of J.B. Tallent Funeral Service, 1937 Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte with The Reverend Larry Watts, officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will be private for the family.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Justin Russell, of the home and two sisters, Denise Greenway, of Mint Hill, N.C. and Teresia Blackwell, of Gold Hill, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, N.C. 28204 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
