Jackie Withers Smith

Mr. Smith , 47, of Clover, SC, formerly of Charlotte, NC died Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Lake Norman Regional Center, Mooresville, NC. He was born August 15, 1958 in Charlotte, NC and resided in Clover, SC with his true love and wife of 25 years Lisa Ratcliffe Smith. Jackie was held in high regard by many. He lived his life with a remarkable sense of integrity and gusto. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church. Jackie was an outstanding scuba diver and often shared his many skills and passion for diving with others from all over the country. He graduated in June 1976 from Garinger High School.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2006 at Matthews United Methodist Church, 801 South Trade Street, Matthews, NC, with The Reverend Dr. M. Kenneth Lyon and The Reverend Dr. Robert Jack officiating.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Ratcliffe Smith ; mother and father, Bob and Frances Smith of Ware Shoals, SC; sister-in-law, Suzanne Hinson and her husband, Mike of Mint Hill, NC; brother-in-law, Jeff Ratcliffe and his wife, Lydia of Glen Burnie, MD; cousins, Earline Geddes and her husband, David of Maiden, NC, Ruth Cashion and her husband, Mike, Larry and Linda Williams, Harry and Peggy Williams, Mary Ann Fore and her husband, Jeff, all of whom reside in Charlotte, NC; aunt, Margaret Harris of Ware Shoals, SC; two nieces Shannon and Nikki Hinson of Charlotte, NC; mother-in-law, Shirley Kimmons of Clover, SC; his closest dive buddies, Joel, Charles, J.T., Garrett, Austin, and Tony; his beloved pets, Lucien, Beau and Micah and a household of cats. Carpe diem.
