Barbara Mortimer Wilson
It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Mortimer Wilson announces her passing on December 4th, 2011.
Barbara was born in Charlotte to Donna Foard Mortimer and Donald Ross Mortimer on January 1, 1958. She lived in Charlotte all her life. She graduated from Garinger High School in 1976. She spent many years in the food services industry in and around the Charlotte area. Barbara was a natural chef and loved to cook for others. She was an avid reader and especially loved books by southern authors. She was a gifted storyteller herself with a wicked sense of humor. We will so miss her generous spirit, her quick wit and the easy warmth of her down home cooking.
Barbara will be forever remembered by her husband Harold and her precious stepson Matt, her mother Donna (Joe), her sisters Melanie (Joshua) and Lisa (Fred). Barbara will also be forever remembered by her niece Jesse, her nephews Tyler and Austin, extended family and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Central Church of God, 5301 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC 28270, on Tuesday, December 13th at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be at 3:00 p.m in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Loaves & Fishes, P.O. Box 11234, Charlotte, NC 28220.
