Henry Hawkins, the second son of Aaron Hawkins and Lavina Davis Hawkins, was born in Elk County on October 6, 1874 and died at his home on June 12, 1941, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 17 days.
In 1891 when he was 17 years old he went west and for about 16 years he lived in California, Montana and Idaho. He returned to Elk County in 1907.
On December 21, 1908, he was married to Mary Clement. They lived on the Cox place for eight years and moved from that place, in 1916, to thier present home which was the birthplace of Mary and the homestead of her father.
When in the west William Henry Hawkins joined the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a member of no other organization.
William Henry was a good man in his home and loved his neighbors.
