According to his death certificate, he was the son of Alexander Ables born in Ohio and Lucy Underwood. At the time of Lou Emma's death in 1934, they were living at 608 Tombstone Canyone in Bisbee. He was not listed as living in Bisbee in the 1940-1959 Bisbee city directories so may have moved to Douglas after his wife's death. At the time of his death at age 85, he lived at 1132 9th Street in Douglas, and worked as mine watchman. He had lived in Arizona for 28 years. He died at home from chronic heart disease and generalized arterio sclerosis.
