Son of George & Elizabeth (Updike) Wightman.
He married, first, Susanna Holmes, on Feb 17,1702/3 at North Kingstown,RI. She was the daughter of John Holmes and Mary Sayles Greene Holmes.
Valentine & Susannah had 10 children (1) Daniel, (2) Mary (3) Valentine (4) Abraham (5) Susannah (6) Isaac (7) Jacob (8) Timothy (9) Sarah & (10)John.

Rev.Wightman's second wife was named Joanna, whom he married about 1728. They had one child, Amy.
